Jacob's Cattle bean, also known as Trout or Appaloosa bean, is a striking heirloom variety with a distinctive maroon and white mottled pattern. This bush bean matures in about 90-100 days and is prized for its hearty, rich flavor and creamy texture. Ideal for soups, stews, and baked beans, it retains its shape well during cooking. Jacob's Cattle beans thrive in well-drained soil and full sun, with plants reaching about 18-24 inches in height. These beans are not only delicious but also nutritious, high in protein, fiber, and essential minerals, making them a valuable addition to any garden.
I bought them for next year. Always happy with the seeds from migardener!
I've never grown these before so excited to try them next season.
Bought some more beans for my garden. These are great beans for direct sowing.
This bean variety was very prolific. I love to grow different dry bean varieties for mixed bean soups. This for sure was a tasty one and it holds up well to long cooking. Of course it's also very beautiful.
Excellent specimen! Arrived quickly and packaged very well. 100%sprouted!

I wasn’t expecting that much garlic. My box was full of soft neck and hard neck.
They are doing beautifully. I can't wait for the spring!
As a homeschooling project, my seven year old grew this cauliflower, which is his favorite vegetable. He entered it into the county fair and won a first place prize. Easy to grow, and kept covered with a mesh fabric. Purchased the same seeds again, this time trying winter sowing in a raised garden bed with 6ml plastic hooped over top. Starting to head out again even if the outdoor temps are 30-40 during the day and 30-20 at night
I had missed out on the opportunity to buy garlic for fall planting. I happened to hop on the website randomly one morning and see the garlic grab boxes so I immediately purchased! I'm so thankful I did. This is my first year planting garlic in Oklahoma and I cannot wait to harvest next year!
I planted my garlic in October. I can’t wait to see how they turn out next summer.
