Indeterminate- This Tennessee heirloom is believed to have been passed down by Native Americans of the Cherokee tribe. The plant is open-pollinated, indeterminate, bearing 8 oz flattened globe fruits that are dark reddish-purple to black. It is meaty tomato with a bold flavor. Won best-tasting tomato in 2012. Let it fully ripen on the vine before harvesting for the best flavor!

This year I grew a couple Cherokee Purple tomato plants for my own garden and gave some plants to friends and two local community gardens. Everyone who ate them, even some self-proclaimed haters of raw tomatoes, loved the flavor. They also got tons of compliments on their beautiful appearance.
One of the best tasting tomatoes out there. Smoky and rich - it doesn’t get much better than this.
I have grown these over the last 4 years. They are delicious and last longer than most tomatoes.
Cherokee Purple was our favorite last year! Had the best flavor, nice size, beautiful deep color. Will definitely grow again!
Great.
