Holy Basil has been regarded as one of the most important herbs ever discovered. Used for centuries in herbal teas for its soothing properties. It has been used to shorten flu symptoms, aid in respiratory function, and to ward off the common cold. Holy basil grows much like traditional basil varieties, but does not bush as much. This variety produces flowers quickly to attract pollinators. Does well indoors when the weather changes. When pruned Holy basil remains compact.
Taste Profile: Hints of cinnamon, clove and anise

Very easy germination and a lot of seeds! I am growing some both indoors and outdoors. I purchased my seed pack in 2018 and still have a great germination rate and more seeds to plant.

Very easy to germinate. I have clay soil in most of my garden, which is why I have raise garden beds, but this plant is resilient. It grew in my clay soil with no problem. It’s in a spot that gets sun all day and I’ve had no issues with leaf burn, its also a very drought tolerant variety.

I attempted multiple times to get these to germinate without success.

Hi! My little tulsi seeds got started in soil blocks and had 100% germination. Of course, more seeds got planted than were needed so some little babies went home with friends to find new and exciting soil. Those that stayed behind are lush and thriving. Thanks so much for excellent seeds. Much love, M and the Tulsi Bunch

Zone 5b! Delicious, but DO NOT grow indoors (kitchen counter herbs). These guys have a POTENT smell, mildly like pot. I wasn’t a huge fan of the texture when raw, it was very “hairy” and liked to stick in the throat, but it grew VERY WELL and was very good in stir-fries. I like to grow a lot of herbs, so I will still grow this one next year (especially because basil can be so temperamental in my soil). Not my favorite basil variety, but it grows and grows well.

I grow this for tea to maintain my sanity, and now even 2 months after I took it all out I have enough dried in my panty to make it a few more months of daily drinking off of 3 plantings

We did not have a very high germination rate, but the plants that did grow were vigorous and smell amazing.

So aromatic and easily grown in zone 7 under required growing temps. If you grow, save some for the amazing tulsi tea!
