Also known as a Mexican “calabaza”, this is a staple for Mexican cuisine. It is versatile and meaty – great to add with any vegetable-based dish! A delightful mid-season squash that is round and a beautiful blue-green when ripe. Harvest early to use as a zucchini. Disease resistant.

      Wow – only one plant has yielded me numerous small squash (golf ball, baseball size) to utilize as summer squash, and there are probably about 8 or so that I let slip by me that have grown to the size of winter squash. You need plenty of room for this squash to spread.
