Blackberry ‘Ebony King’ (Mostly- Thornless)– 1 dormant bare root plant
A mostly thornless blackberry has large, delicious purple berries are perfect for many a baking treat. Upright mostly thornless canes bear fruit in summer before hot days set in. These fruits are known for their size and production. Fruits regularly weighing nearly 1/2 ounce each, large juicy antioxidant packed fruits grow and ripen in clusters earlier than most other blackberry varieties. Ideal for freezing, pies, jams, and preserves. Seeds are small and require very little maintenance.
Once you receive your bare root plant, immediately submerge the roots into water and plant in soil to prevent them from drying out. Use an all-purpose fertilizer around the base of the plant and water it in well. Once the weather warms, the plants will come out of dormancy and will be able to set fruit within a year. Do not prune any part of the plant for the first year. Support may be needed.
