This African heirloom is the original source of the flavor of the ancient Egyptian confection that inspired the marshmallows of today! Roots and leaves are edible and are delicious when fried with onions and garlic. Harvest marshmallow extract from the roots for gourmet homemade sweets!

      I planted these for root harvesting. Needless to say the production of both flower and roots was incredible. I probably harvested roots about 2-3 feet in length. I even forgot to plant one from a container and left it on a small raised bed about 3 inches deep and the roots grew through the planting cup and broke the cup they were so large and robust! A must plant!

      My order arrived very fast despite the holidays and covid … the next day I started different seeds and most of them are already germinating!
