I’m sitting here eating a spinach salad from my very first harvest, and I’m super excited about how good these plants turned out!

I ordered the seeds thinking it would be a fairly easy thing to grow (plus I love spinach salad). I didn’t really know what I was doing, so my soil was all wrong. Then, it turned out to be an unusually hot spring for us down here, and to top it all off, I didn’t really fully understand just how MUCH water they needed for a long time.

And yet, somehow I still got nearly 100% germination (and it’s very likely the last seed that didn’t sprout was stolen by a bird or something), and not only that, but they survived and grew like gangbusters, and even made it through a slug attack while I fumbled my way through what to do about that. 🙂

I just harvested the first leaves, and I wasn’t sure to expect since this was such a learning year for me, but they taste amazing! Not even a trace of bitterness, which I was cautioned to expect with the unusually warm weather we’ve had… This fall I’m going to dedicate a whole garden bed to them, because I can tell I’m going to run out before I ever get tired of eating salads. 🙂

Anyway, I can highly recommend these seeds! Even if you’re a garden n00b like me.

I bought these last year and planted them with great results. Huge, extremely tasty raw, and cooked. Great germination.
I eat these right in the garden, they taste so good. Thank you for introducing me to this variety . It tastes better than any other variety I’ve tried. I planted this in the fall and over- wintered it under low tunnels and I’ve been eating spinach for months!

I planted these in the fall every seed came up… Was it just me or was these kind of sweet? I sauteed these in a pan with garlic and onions.

I found these easy to be easy to grow in zone 8b. Produced abundantly. I wasn’t able to harvest as long as the Bloomsdale long standing spinach but these were my favorite of the spinach varieties. Great to toss in with some pasta at the last minute for a quick mid-week meal.

Not sure why but I am not having much lucky with my spinach germination. 🙁

Very large leaves, bigger than your hand, and still tender. Great flavor. That was in the spring. So excited to plant for fall now, I expect to continue harvesting into Dec.
