Amazing basil plant. It is extremely productive, and you can toss it in almost any dish. Throw it in soup, sprinkle it on pizza, but Remember to pinch off the flower stems because it will take all the energy away from the plant.

2nd year growing this basil. Seeds sprouted in about 5 days. I found that I had better luck planting my seeds directly in my garden.

Just ordered this for the 2017 growing season and can’t wait until it arrives so I can get started. I can’t say enough good things about MIgardener seed store. Lots of variety and only $0.99 per package. I will write an update review once growing season starts.

So much growing in peet pellets fed with worm tea! Just waiting to go outside. Vigorous and surpassing my 2016 version from park

wonderful! easy to grow and delicious.

The germination is practically perfect, so yummy the kids pull and munch on the leaves while they play in the yard.

These seeds don’t germinate as well as some of the other varieties that I’ve tried but the plants that have grown to full plants have been great and they are very flavorful.

Very easy to germinate. It has a very strong smell and flavor, but thoroughly enjoyable, my 5yr old will take leafs right off the plant and much on them. Make sure to pink off the flowering heads as it will affect the flavor of the leaf. Not quite as drought tolerant as the Holy Basil (Tulsi), but still forgiving.

This basil variety was fantastic tasting, smelling and was very prolific. It was easy to start under grow lights and it was also easy to propagate cuttings. We ended up having more basil than we knew what to do with. We planted some in containers, some in the ground. The ones that did best were planted between our tomato plants. Winner!

Genovese basil is great. You will love the smell of it while while picking the leaves. It is great in pesto and really good as a pizza topping or mixed into homemade pizza sauce. The seeds germinate fast when started inside. I also grew with the tomato plants and although they grew well, they did better in grow bags. During mid summer I pulled the grow bags to a partial sun area and they produced better. If you are a basil lover you will love this basil.

This is your classic basil plant, for your sauce, pesto, etc… good germination, healthy plants, decent size.

Purchased as part of my first-ever order from MI Gardener for a Southern California, part-sun, high UV, zone 9b-10 garden. Genovese basil seeds sprouted at a seemingly 100% germination rate, yielding lovely and forgiving plants. My family and I were delighted by how much more delicious this basil was compared to store-bought sweet basil…not as intensely licorice-tasting:. subtle-enough, and flavorful.

This basil took a bit longer to grow than others, but once it became hotter, its growth exploded. Put up a lot of pesto from this one and enjoying this winter.

I planted my basil today (2-7-21). I do container gardening only (for now). I was amazed at the QUALITY of the seeds. Huge amount and big hardy seeds. Can’t wait for it to grow.

Amazing plant! it grew very well even in the hot TX weather, tastes amazing and surprisingly good in teas. Overall a good purchase

  27. maikee1900

Grew so well… had 3 pots of healthy plants, and made pesto for freezing, gave away some, used as garnish, etc. Produced so much leaves!

  28. ashlyn_61

So, so tasty, with gorgeous leaves. My only issue with it were the spiders that occasionally liked to make web homes beneath some of the leaves. This will be one I grow every year.

    Great for preserving

What can I say… This is a good basil variety. Use it in legit anything. I like to prune all my basil plants every 3rd or 4th node- that way they bush out instead of becoming a tall stick. Cuttings root super easy and the basil(fresh or dried) adds flavor to everything
