Beautiful mute tones of orange, blue, green, red, and brown. Corn grows 7-8 feet tall and can produce up to 3 ears of corn per plant. Most corn will yield 2 ears per stalk and its silks will tell you when it’s ready to harvest. You want to have silks that are brown and dry with a little bit of green at the base. The ears will feel plump, full to touch and green colored. Gently pull the ear down and away from the stalk while twisting to remove the ear. Keep chilled until ready to use. Great for grinding, milling into flour or corn meal, and has excellent storage life.

      A huge storm in August knocked down my entire section of dent corn. Most stalks never recovered. The few that managed to come back did produce lovely ears of corn. I’m going to try again.
