The Rio Grande tomato is a small slicer tomato around 4 ounces in size, it is more a salad tomato than a slicer, however what this tomato lacks in size it makes up for in flavor! Wow. That is the reaction we get from everyone who comes to the organic garden to taste vegetables. It is packed with acidity and sweetness all in one. The tomato also produces lots of tomatoes on compact plants that grow all season long.

I started these in early spring and had a 100% germination rate. The plants grew quite quickly and produced fruit that all seemed to mature around the same time. The Texas heat caused a halt in pollination and fruit setting, but the fruit that we did yield was delicious.

Really enjoyed these tomatoes, and they produce a ton of tomatoes. They work quite well for sandwiches, despite their smaller size, as the flavor is very good. Germination was 100% or nearly that.

This was my earliest-producing tomato. Lots and lots of tomatoes. No cracking.
