Raspberry ‘Brandywine’– 1 dormant bare root plant
The first crossed raspberry. This is an heirloom June-bearing variety that has been grown for decades but is a cross between a black and a red raspberry. The result is a ruby-purple red raspberry. this variety is unsurpassed for jam, jelly, and pies due to the tart, flavor-packed flavor. The fruit yields are impressive and the plants are hardy to zone 3. Also known for staying put and not spreading like other raspberry varieties.
Once you receive your bare root plant, immediately submerge the roots into water and plant in soil to prevent them from drying out. Use an all purpose fertilizer around the base of the plant and water it in well. Once the weather warms, the plants will come out of dormancy and will be able to set fruit within a year. Do not prune any part of the plant for the first year. Support may be needed.
