First time growing rapini here. This is very easy to grow and productive. The taste is more like mustard than real broccoli, but once cooked down it’s pretty tasty.

These rapini’s grew so well for me. I was amazed at how fast and strong they took off. I have been harvesting them this week. I also like the greens juiced into a smoothy, pretty tasty more bitter than spinach but not as bitter as kale. I have never grown broccoli from seed but these make me feel like giving regular broccoli a try next year! give them a try 🙂

Growing in 6a means that I plant alot of brassicas. Out of all of them this was the quickest to grow and mature, and has been the most prolific so far. I don’t love the taste, but it has been a great plant for sharing with neighbors!

These have germinated so quickly and are now baby seedlings. Just waiting on the heat to go away to transplant. So excited.

This was my first year growing Broccoli Rabe. To be honest, they didn’t do well in the spring here – I have a hard time with many cold weather crops because it gets so hot so fast.

However, I sowed some seeds on Labor Day and now have several beautiful full plants ready for harvest for Thanksgiving – they’ve survived the frosts and light snow we’ve had. They honestly look almost identical to the turnips I was growing, only they developed florets like broccoli instead of bulbous roots.
